The 15th edition of Wordstock will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Ryerson School of Journalism, at the corner of Gould and Church Sts. in Toronto. After a few years of dabbling successfully in the new journalism tools and styles, this is a retro version of Wordstock. It will be all about writing, both fiction and non-fiction.

Canada Post today presented the winners for the 2010 Canada Post Community Literacy Awards.
Winners were chosen by Canada Post judging committee in two categories: Individual Achievement and Educator categories and come from across Canada. Literacy advocates from organizations across Canada have determined the winners.

(Toronto, ON – June 21, 2010) – Today marks the first official day of summer, and parents and children are excited to start their summer vacation. But a summer break doesn’t mean that kids should stop reading and learning. Research has shown that children who don’t read over the summer lose some of the literacy skills they learned during the year, and have a difficult time adjusting to school in the fall.
