FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Calgary, AB – (September 14, 2010) – The Beef Information Centre (BIC) has released a series of safe food handling videos for consumers.
The ‘Food TLC’ series takes a food safety management system approach to food safety at home by following food from the grocery store, to preparation, cooking, storing and reheating. The series of stories is told by ‘Marissa the Meat Maven’ an animated character who conveys the messages in a consumer-friendly way while keeping the videos fun and engaging.
Two New Brunswick brothers – both in their 60s – have come together late in their working careers to create goExplore Canada, the first big, big smartPhone travel app for all of Canada.
“Our goal was the most complete travel app for Canada,” said Mark Pedersen, 62. “If you’re traveling in Canada, this is the app you want to have.”
With that goal in mind, the producers are reaching beyond the big cities to include attractions in smaller communities as well, plus their hotels, restaurants and shops.

Some great examples of cause-worthy social media campaigns include Earth Hour, 30 Hour Famine and Twestival.
