About

Reach Canada's most popular medium

Owned and operated by Newspapers Canada, the Community Content press release service offers access to over 1,100 newspapers from all parts of the country in both official languages. Your message has the potential to reach millions of readers weekly. 71 per cent of Canadians read their community newspaper — make sure that your message is heard.

Recent results from the ComBase. NADbank and StatHebdo readership studies show that community, daily and ethnocultural newspapers have a wider issue-reach than any other medium. The editors of over 1,100 newspapers are subscribed to Community Content, and your message gets delivered right to their e-mail inbox or fax machine from a source they trust. As well, the Community Content Archive gives editors and ad managers immediate on-line access to your message for at least one year. Newspapers Canada is the definitive voice of the newspaper industry in Canada. This dynamic and thriving industry delivers a combined weekly circulation of over 39 million copies.

3 Steps

After we've set up your account, there are 3 basic steps to submitting an item for distribution:

  1. Choose your content
Decide what you would like to distribute, and create the content. The Community Content service distributes all kinds of content, including:
    • Press releases
    • Matte stories
    • Images
    • Public Service Announcements
    • Free-for-use content
  2. Choose your audience
The Community Content service offers distribution by email and/or fax, in English and/or French, to our national list or targeted. The most common distribution choice is national English email, but we can discuss your needs, and your budget, to design the most successful campaign to target your audience of newspaper editors and ad managers.
  3. You provide the content. We do the rest.
Once you have created your content and selected your audience, send us the content and we'll do the rest. We distribute your content as soon as possible, usually the same day, with a 2-business day response guarantee. You will receive a confirmation email that your content has been distributed, and you will be mailed an invoice. First-time users of the service must pre-pay to establish credit.
