Public Health Articles for Community Content: 2009-2010 Survey of Use

From September 1, 2009 to the present date, the Public Health Agency of Canada has submitted public health-related articles authored by the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, Dr. David Butler-Jones, to the Canadian Community Newspaper Association, for distribution to its members. The goal of these articles is to provide Canadians with helpful information on how to maintain good health. Articles were typically submitted on a monthly basis, with additional articles available on emerging topics such as the H1N1 flu outbreak.

Articles authored by the Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO) include:

  • Breastfeeding: Building a healthy foundation for your baby (September 2009)
  • Fighting Flu Takes a Few Simple Steps (November 2009)
  • Prevent H1N1 - get vaccinated! (November 2009)
  • Bullying: An evolving threat to our children’s health & well-being (November 2009)
  • Make this season a healthy one (December 2009)
  • Going for Healthy Living Gold – Get Inspired by the 2010 Winter Games (January 2010)
  • Children’s Health: an early investment with lifelong impacts. (February 2010)
  • Healthy Communities Supporting a Healthier Lifestyle (March 2010)
  • National Immunization Awareness Week: Take Control of Your Health! (April 2010)
  • Plan for healthy summer fun (May 2010)
