OTTAWA, October 30, 2008 -- War Amps CEO Cliff Chadderton has been notified that two of the Association's productions have won Gold awards at the 19th Annual GALAXY Film Festival in New York.

WEBMASTERS, a three-minute film, describes The War Amps dynamic new program. Designed for children with multiple amputations, it provides training in the Web development field, with particular emphasis in creating Web sites, all with the goal of future employment. It can be viewed at waramps.ca/champ/jump.html

La Vainqueur Camille, a 30-second public service announcement, features Camille, 18, who was born a left arm and left leg amputee and was enrolled in The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program. In the PSA, Camille talks about the importance of perseverance and of adopting a positive attitude. "Despite the fact that we are missing limbs, life does not stop there," she says. Both were produced by Mr. Chadderton, who noted, "This event receives entries from more than 20 countries, so we are delighted to see that our work stands up with the best from around the world."
